Simone Borghi, born in Ancona in 1975, at the age of 15 became one of the most active pop musicians in the Marche region. After a decade of paying dues in Italy, Simone reached Los Angeles where he recorded his first album, For Many Years in 2003 with the support of musician and producer James Raymond (son of David Crosby, co-founder of the Byrds and American super group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), world famous drummer Vinnie Colaiuta (who has recorded with Sting, Frank Zappa, Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, Jeff Beck and many others) and John Fogerty’s bass player David Santos. Two years later Borghi came back in the USA to produce the single By The Moon with James Raymond, Vinnie Colaiuta and King Crimson’s bass player Tony Levin, who collaborated with musicians like Peter Gabriel, John Lennon, Paul Simon, Lou Reed and David Bowie. In 2007 he produced State Of Grace Documentary which tells about his musical experience in the United States Of America and he founded the SBP (Serpilli Borghi Productions), his own record label and artist management agency which promotes art, books, movies, music and fashion exhibitions at international level through the annual Los Angeles Art Gallery in association with the American agency NYX Productions. In 2008 Borghi recorded the album Online (co-produced by Italian producer Pietro Nobile) with Toto members Steve Lukather and Simon Phillips, guitarists Frank Gambale, Dean Parks and Brian Ray (from Paul McCartney’s band) and jazz pianist from New York City, Rachel Z. In 2009 he became a member of ASCAP (The American Society Of Composers, Authors and Publishers) as publisher/composer and of The National Academy Of Recording Arts & Sciences in the Los Angeles Chapter. In 2010 Simone Borghi presented his record Online in California at the NAMM Show international music products exhibition in the Reference Laboratory guitar cables company booth and the single titled Every Night Together, performed with Italian blues singer Linda Valori, was considered for the 52nd Grammy Music Awards nominations in three categories: song of the year, record of the year and best collaboration with vocals. As well as Borghi himself was considered as best new artist and for best male pop vocal performance participating as Recording Academy voting member at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards telecast on January 31, 2010 from Staple Center in Los Angeles on the American CBS Television network. Many important artists and producers of the international music industry like Quincy Jones, Elton John, Lionel Richie, Celine Dion and winners Lady Gaga, Beyoncè and Taylor Swift joined the event. During the same year Borghi produced the single It Makes No Sense and the following year he released Acoustic Night In Firenze concert film & album live which was premiered in Italy at the Umbria Jazz Festival 2011 and in the USA at the NAMM Show 2012.

Dopo un decennio di gavetta in giro per l’Italia Simone raggiunge Los Angeles, dove nel 2003 realizza il suo primo album For Many Years con il supporto del musicista e produttore James Raymond (figlio di David Crosby, co-fondatore dei Byrds e del supergruppo americano Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), il batterista di fama mondiale Vinnie Colaiuta (che ha inciso anche con Sting, Frank Zappa, Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, Jeff Beck e molti altri) e David Santos (bassista di John Fogerty). Due anni dopo Borghi torna negli USA per produrre il singolo By The Moon con James Raymond, Vinnie Colaiuta e il bassista dei King Crimson, Tony Levin, che ha collaborato anche con personaggi del calibro di Peter Gabriel, John Lennon, Paul Simon, Lou Reed e David Bowie. Nel 2007 produce il documentario State Of Grace Documentary che racconta le sue esperienze musicali negli Stati Uniti D’America e fonda la SBP (Serpilli Borghi Productions), sua etichetta discografica e agenzia di art management che ogni anno, in collaborazione con l’agenzia americana NYX Productions, promuove la pittura, la letteratura, il cinema, la musica e la moda a livello internazionale attraverso la Los Angeles Art Gallery. Nel 2008 Borghi incide Online (co-prodotto insieme al produttore italiano Pietro Nobile) con la collaborazione di Steve Lukather e Simon Phillips dei Toto, i chitarristi Frank Gambale, Dean Parks e Brian Ray (musicista della band di Paul McCartney) e la pianista jazz di New York City, Rachel Z. Nel 2009 diventa membro dell’ASCAP (Società Americana Dei Compositori Autori e Editori) in qualità di editore musicale/compositore e dell’Accademia Nazionale Delle Arti e Scienze Discografiche nella sezione di Los Angeles. Nel 2010 Simone Borghi ha presentato il suo album Online in California al NAMM Show, fiera internazionale degli strumenti musicali, presso lo stand della ditta Reference Laboratory che produce cavi per chitarra e il singolo intitolato Every Night Together, interpretato con la cantante blues italiana Linda Valori, è stato ammesso nelle liste per la corsa alle nominations dei 52° Grammy Music Awards in tre categorie: canzone dell’anno, registrazione dell’anno e migliore collaborazione vocale. Borghi è stato candidato alle nominations anche come migliore artista nuovo e per la migliore interpretazione pop vocale maschile partecipando, in qualità di membro votante della Recording Academy, alla notte dei Grammy del 31 Gennaio 2010 presso lo Staple Center di Los Angeles. All’evento, trasmesso in diretta dal network televisivo americano CBS, erano presenti molti grandi artisti e produttori dell’industria mondiale della musica tra i quali Quincy Jones, Elton John, Lionel Richie, Celine Dion e le vincitrici Lady Gaga, Beyoncè e Taylor Swift. Durante lo stesso anno Borghi ha prodotto il singolo It Makes No Sense e l’anno seguente ha realizzato il film concerto e album dal vivo Acoustic Night In Firenze, presentato in anteprima in Italia all’ Umbria Jazz Festival 2011 e negli USA al NAMM Show 2012.
